Squarespace also has a variety of templates and features suitable for various websites. However, it only provides a small selection of third-party extensions, most of them being for online stores.

Some of their in-app tools are designed for marketing, SEO, and analytics. Squarespace also has a scheduling feature to manage appointments and commerce functions for starting an online store. The latter is available for all Squarespace plans except Personal.

As a famous blogging platform, WordPress comes with the basic functions which are needed for every blog. Though it doesn’t come with other built-in tools, it boasts over 55,000 plugins to extend your website’s functions. It also has more than a thousand options for themes with their own custom features. Additionally, WordPress enables developers to make their own modifications.

Use WooCommerce to start an online store, bbPress to create forums, or Yoast SEO to optimize your site for search engines. When selecting a plugin, find one that has good reviews and is up-to-date to avoid any potential mishaps.

In this round, WordPress beats its competitors when it comes to feature richness. In spite of Wix’s and Squarespace’s features and extensions, some users might come to a point where they’ve outgrown either platform. They range from $12 to $40 a month for a yearly subscription, with the Business plan being the most popular at $18. All subscriptions come with custom domains, 24/7 customer support, and an SSL certificate. Unlike Wix, Squarespace offers unlimited storage in all its services.

As for WordPress, the platform is free of charge – but you’ll have to pay for hosting, among other things. The web host’s price will depend on the type and provider. On average, a shared web hosting might cost between $2.75 up to $15 a month.

Moreover, some plugins and themes come with a price tag. Though there are free options, the premium ones usually perform better and have more features.

Overall, there is no clear winner when it comes to pricing, as your choice will be entirely dependant on your needs.
